TRACE Joenal: Ambassador Zhangliang Another Grassroots Diplomat Surfaces

It was a mixed feeling for TRACE Joenal when the announcement was made that the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Ambassador Wu Peng mission has come to an end. Ambassador Wu Peng made a remarkable mark in Sierra Leone. He is among the lists of successful diplomats in Sierra Leone that thus not only and mainly seeks the interest of his country but the country he resided as well. TRACE Joenal wants to wish him well in other mission areas. Few days after the announcement was made, Ambassador Wu Peng left for another assignment; he ushered in his successor, Ambassador Hu Zhangliang in March 2019 as the new Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone. UNESCO Takes On Memory of the World Training and Capacity Building

UNESCO in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Affairs has ended two days Memory of the World (MoW) Training and Capacity Building of Stakeholders. The two days session began on Monday 27th May and ended yesterday 28th May at the Family Kingdom. UNESCO Regional Office, Abuja Project Officer Jestina Simba explained that the specific objective of the training was the formation of the National Memory of the World Committee in Sierra Leone. She continues to say other objectives include:  Establish and maintain the country’s Memory of the World Register and encourage, receive and assess nominations of documentary heritage for inclusion in it.  To ensure the nation’s endangered heritage is protected  To identify and select projects, submit them to the International Advisory Committee (IAC) or its regional committee, follow them up and raise funds for their implementation.  Work in close cooperation with governmental and Non-governmental organizations in the count
