No light no water no fuel… “APC Govt Is Failing Us”

People from all walks of life have expressed dissatisfaction over the present economic and social situation in the country.

Most people have attributed the lack of basic amenities in the country to the inability of the governing All Peoples Congress (APC) to meet the needs of the people. Abu Mansaray a banker said that the current fuel situation in the country that has amounted to the erratic rise in transportation cost is due to the government not stamping its authority on the fuel dealers. He said the government is taking a soft stance because they are weary of taking action that will militate against them come 2012. Fatmata Bundu complained that there is a drastic rise in the prices of basic commodities. She stated that a bag of rice currently cost Le 165,000.00 (One Hundred and Sixty Five Thousand Leones).  “What do they expect us to do?” she asked. “No light, no water, no fuel and the cost of living has soared very high,” she concluded.
It could be seen that the queues at the fuel stations and the public taps are getting longer daily. Sierra Leoneans especially women and children could be seen at unholy hours of the day with the ubiquitous yellow five gallon oil container in search of water as if they now live in a desert. “The APC must try to provide the people of this country the basic amenities instead of filling their heads with fantasies,” retorted Francis Jones who is on holidays from Europe.
Many parents are wondering what be the hope for the future generation.
