My Father’s House Foundation Set To Transform Salone Youth
In line with their dreams and vision for the youth, the
newly established Foundation ‘My Father’s House’ (MFHF) has started their
mentoring program for young people between the ages of 16 to 25 as a
way of empowering them for a brighter future not only for themselves but the nation
as a whole.
This was disclosed to this Press by Ninie Unachuku, Co-Founder
and Head of Strategy and Rosemarie Suma-Keita, Co-Founder and Head of Public
Relations and Fundraising at their Saika Steven Street’s office in Freetown.
Madam Ninie Unachuku explained that MFHF is a non-profit
community initiative set up in Sierra Leone to assist in the regeneration
effort of the nation. She mentioned that all their membership are Sierra
Leoneans at home and abroad that have real passion to help young people from
falling below the poverty line and build a strong nation.
She disclosed that they strongly believed that every
Sierra Leonean’s life matter and every Sierra Leonean can become great

Madam Ninie Unachuku went further to explained that they
called their first project ‘Start with One’
“We have targeted this group because they are the most
susceptible to dropping out of education due to personal challengers. As the
next generation of leaders, these age ranges are our best hope for a brighter
Sierra Leone,” she said.
According to her, she said when the youth succeed they succeed;
if they fail they would have failed to impact their next generation of
potential Doctors, Lawyers, Sportsmen, Entertainers and Business Moguls among
others.
She urged all to consider their role as an influencer and
for them to join and support the Foundation to help every young person fulfil
his dreams and thereby fulfilling the dream of a prosperous Sierra Leone for
everyone.
The Co-Founder and Head of Strategy pointed out that they
will target youth from East end Police Clock Tower to Wellington as a start of the
first face of the project and later extend it to other part of Freetown and the
country as a whole.
She said they are meeting religious leaders, tribal head
man and among others in those communities to identify the youth between the
ages of 16 to 25.
She spoke about their monthly mentoring forum and the official
launch of the Foundation at Makambo Village Resort Maburaka Highway Makeni this
weekend.
Rosemarie Suma-Keita, Co-Founder and Head of Public
Relations and Fundraising said MFHF is a community based initiative set up by
Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad to act as a bridge builder between the
disadvantaged and victims of disaster in Sierra Leone and Africa.
She went on to say that they provide access to
rehabilitation, education, training and entrepreneurship. “Basically we take
off where other charities have left off. We look after the victims so they
don’t fall below the poverty line.”
She stressed that MFHF acts as the go between for the
vulnerable children and young people, by providing them with access to; medical
help, educational and vocational training and also business and entrepreneurial
training including access to a micro loan for the qualified to start their own
