contribution to that community.

The self-funded road construction started from TawioChandis Black Hall road Junction ran to Borrow Pit and will end at Phase
2.
Residents of that community have welcomed the move taken
by the Contractors and other stakeholders. They described it as a step in the
right direction.
According to some of the road users, the road was in a
very bad shape. They described it as one that was very close to a cut off point
for them.
Some of the car owners explained that they were not able
to drive through that road because of the bad road network in that community.
They poured showers on praises to the Contractors and
other stakeholders for their timely intervention.
Youth Coordinator Gibrilla Kamara said they are doing
this to complement the effort of the government. He said as Sierra Leoneans
they should not fold hands and wait for the government to come and construct
road for them.
“We have a role to play in our community. Government
can’t do all things at the same time. That is why we are coming to the aid of
the community and the government which we are part of to do such project.”
Mr Kamara encouraged other people to give their
contribution for the benefit of the community. He also called on other
communities to do the same in their various communities as they too have a role
to play in their communities.
“It is high time we ask ourselves what we have done for
this nation and not what the nation or government has done for us. Your little
contribution can make a big change in our area.”
Mambaridge and Moyiba communities are situated at the
hill top of East of Freetown overlooking the Queen Elizabeth 11 port, Ferry
Terminal and Lungi.
The communities have huge number of population and most
of them are near women and children.
