Rev. Arnold Paker Releases Book Titled “What Must We Do?”
Rev. Arnold H.O. Paker of Greater Heights Global Mission
which is situated at 45 King Harman Road Brookfields Freetown has published a
must read book titled, “What Must We
Do?”
The book which was launched by Lady Commissioner
OlayinkaLaggah of the Bethel World Outrich Ministries took place at the church
premises on Saturday 15th October 2016 at King Harman Road in Freetown.
In his statement, Rev. Arnold Paker explained that “What
Must We Do” has to do with the works of God and that it is the first book he
has authored and published.
He said it was never in his wildest imagination that he
would write a book but sometimes around 2010, he began to have sudden surges of
spontaneous inspirational thoughts and the urge to write them down.
He explained further that when he began it first appeared
to be random thoughts and articles but they later crystallized into a book.
Rev. Arnold Paker said one of their dreams in Greater
Heights is to have an arm of the Mission that would be a publishing house
called Prophesy Publications. Through prophesy publications, he added they
planned to publish books written by them and other authors that they believed
would be a blessing to the body of Christ.
“The book what must we do to do the works of God is the
first baby step in the pursuit of this vision. The book is one of three
manuscripts I have completed. There are two more I am still in the process of
writing.”
Rev. Arnold Paker went on to say he wrote the book out of
a God given desire and passion to see the Church of Jesus Christ come to
maturity. If this is to happen he added an apt generation, APT, apt - accurate,
pure and true generation must be raised.
“In Ephesians chapter 5 verses 25 & 26 it says Christ
not only loved us but gave Himself for us that He might present to Himself a
radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and
blameless. In the book I write that God
is concerned about the purity of the church. The purity of our lifestyle, our worship and doctrine. He is also
concerned about the purity of our service to Him.”
He pointed out that there is evidence in the book of
Revelation chapter 2&3 where Jesus repeatedly addresses the Church with the
phrase ‘I know your works.’
“Previous speakers have succinctly and eloquently
reviewed the book bringing out its salient points. I must confess that there is
a lot I did not say that I could have because I felt the scriptures and the
Holy Spirit should be allowed to speak to the reader and this my prayer for
everyone who reads the book.”
Rev. Arnold Paker disclosed that he has chosen to give
the proceeds of the book as a fruits offering to God.
“Therefore all funds that will be raised at this book
launching and the sale of this book will go into the work of the ministry of
the Mission. I have already been challenged to write a second edition and
create a work book. This will still apply. I will endeavor to use none of the
proceeds for my personal use.”
Rev. Arnold Paker thanked God Almighty for His mercy and
grace, that He found me faithful and put in the ministry.
“Too Him be all glory, honour and praise. I want to also
express my appreciation to all the servants of God who in one way or the other
have influenced my life and ministry - Rev. Bai Sesay, my first pastor, Bishop
Akintayo Sam-Jolly whom God used to raise and father me into ministry, and Dr
Jonathan David, my Apostolic Father in destiny.
Finally, to my beautiful and wonderful wife not only in the flesh but
also in the spirit , Pastor Alison, you are a gem, a pearl of great price.
Rev. Arnold Paker disclosed that in January 2017, he will
be releasing another book to commemorate their 20 years together in holy
matrimony, titled, The Prevailing Family.
“Every principle in that book I have been taught by the
Lord and endeavored to live. The book I dedicate to her.”
Reviewing the Book Rev. Berlindo Percival-Deigh said the
differentiating between the works of God and those of man is really not
critical, especially if one use His word is the parameter.
“There are 3 things always resident in the word of God. A
Principle, A program and A promise. These 3 keys, not only characterize and
define the approach of this work, but are resident, through out every section
of the book, and authenticate its essence.”
He went on to say that the world they live in today, is
full of transitions, it readily gives acceptance to the ills and wrong in
society and frowns down on the right.
“We live in a world where we are motivated by vanity and
the need for personal aggrandizement, with the readiness to spare no resource
in our erroneous pursuits.”
Rev. Berlindo Percival-Deigh pointed out that
unfortunately the Church has not been spared as they have developed man made
cultures and offices, positions and dictates, principles and precepts,
doctrines and rites, programs and activities, the list goes on, yet unabated
they purchase approval by calling them the works of God….when they are not and
have nothing to do with God.
They are the works of man…. It is this section of the
book…. “ The works of Man that arrested my attention”. The bottom line is God
is only interested in His works and nothing else. Nothing in terms of works is
of essence to God if the works are not His. That is the basic objective of the
book.”
He urged his audience to be ready to make a shift, from
the humanistic dogmas and man-made doctrines and culture, to a Christocentric
perception and approval, as it is the clarion call of the book delivered
without prejudice, nor dark suggestions, but by the Spirit of truth.
He went on to say that after care review of the Treatise,
WHAT WE MUST DO, TO THE WORKS OF GOD, “I must say the documentation, treatment
and methodology, is apt and timely. Your citations and exposition at this intersection
is not only persuasive but true. I appreciate the thoroughness, care and the
eye for details and current examples. This book isn’t a new wave, but a very
serious attempt to bring alignment, and take the Christian and the Church in
Sierra Leone and beyond, back its original context, of doing God’s bidding.
“On this note let me congratulate Rev. Arnold Parker, and
recommend freely to you to grab a copy of this manuscript. I unflinchingly
endorse it and concur with its contents. Thank you and God bless.”
Lady Commissioner OlayinkaLaggah while launching the book
explained about a conversation she had with a lady about the work they are
doing as children of God and those that are not and how God will judge them one
day. She described reading as a very essential thing everybody should cope
with.
Madam Laggah spoke about the book she read when she was
in a state of depression which changed her life for the better.
“There are lots of things that are hidden in a book. A
book turned my depression round and a
book brought breakthrough into her life.”
She encouraged her audience to have a copy of the book
not only for themselves but for others as well and prayed that they will have
the desire to read more and fill with the blessings of God.
