Global Group Of Companies And Maria Boost Grafton Polio School

As a way of giving back to the community, Global Group of Companies and Mariatu Kargbo Foundation have donated building materials to the Maria Polio School at Grafton for the construction of their school as well as learning equipment worth millions of Leones. 
The donation took place yesterday at the school grounds on Wednesday 19th January, 2017.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Global Group of Companies Madam Zhang Jinling before presenting the items on behalf of the company and Maria who is currently in China said they believe that disability is just a perception and if they can forget what they have and see what they give there is a brighter future.
“Let’s know them for their abilities not their disability as the only disability in life is bad attitude,” she urged all present.
Global Group of Companies is the Company that is constructing the Sewa Grounds multi-purpose market. 
Madam Zhang went on to say this is the first time Global Group of Companies is making such donation to that school. She pledged more support to the school as a way of improving the quality of education in the country.
Chairman of Promotion Committee of and Unification Sierra Leone,Li Luming said Sierra Leone is their second home and they want to ensure quality education for the children of this country.
He went on to say if the children have conducive learning environment they will focus on their education and always come out with good result. 

He expressed optimism of a great Sierra Leone in a not too distance future.
“We want to ensure that the children of Sierra Leone get better education. This is the China-Sierra Leone friendship.
Ibrahim Bangura PRO of the Mariatu Kargbo Foundation and Deputy General Manager Global Group of Companies said the donation was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

“The Chinese are doing all they can to help Sierra Leone. Let us join them as Sierra Leoneans to support the children. The little contribution you are giving will go a long way for them. They need more items to complete their school and for their own needs.”
He went on to say they want to make sure that Maria Primary school becomes one of the best in the country.
Head Teacher of the Maria Primary School, Madam Mariama Jalloh expressed their joy for the timely support of the Global Group of Companies and Mariatu Foundation.
She said Maria always come to their aid from the unset and called on all and sundry to render their support to the school at all time as they are not on the payroll from the government.
“We are really struggling to survive."
Simon Kamara Chairman Grafton Polio Association explained that Maria is giving stipend to teachers and paying school fees for the children. He stressed that disable is not inability.
Currently Maria Polio School children are occupying personal household veranda to get classes and the building which was constructed for hospital as the school because the community sees value in educating their children.
Some of the items donated are corrugated zincs for roofing the five class rooms building, books, pencils, and other educational items for the children and the teachers. The doors, windows, glass and other items will be donated later according to both groups.
