Ahmadiyya School Gets Mariatu Kargbo Foundation, Global Group Of Companies Donation

Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School and
other nine Secondary Schools in Freetown have received donations from Mariatu Kargbo
Foundation and Global Group of Companies.
The donation which took place at the
Ahmadiyya School yesterday 28th February 2017 brought together nine
more secondary schools in Freetown under one roof as they received smart phones
from the two groups. Mariatu Kargbo is an ex-pupils of that school. The
donation to the school ranged from emergency
cell phones, sport jerseys and musical instruments.
Before making the donation, Mariatu Kargbo
thanked the principal, staff of the school and the other visiting principals of
the different schools that graced the ceremony. She said she was a daughter
from the school, and was pleased to have gone back to her alma mater to give
them what she described as a small token.
Mariatu Kargbo Foundation and Global
Group of Companies believed that education is the act of learning through a
medium that both educates and entertains. She urged the students to take their
studies seriously. ‘If one wants to touch the past, touch a rock, wants to
touch the present, touch a flower likewise if one wants to touch the future,
touch a life,’this she said is her belief.
She challenged the pupils that it takes them
to make a difference. “We make a living
by what we get and make a life by what we give. With the efforts of other
ex-students all over the world we will make our school better and serve as role
models.”
She also thanked the Chinese Government
and the Government of Sierra Leone for their endless support in improving
education in both countries.
Mariatu Kargbo advised students that
life was not a bed of roses, they must be positive in everything.
She said the donation was not only for Ahmadiyya
but other schools as well, stressing that the best benefit the children could have was education.
The Principal of the Mariatu Kargbo Junior
Secondary School, Alhaji Karimu Sesay also thanked Mariatu and her team for
such a wonderful donation.
He said that it was not the first time
she waas donating to the school.
“Ahmadiyya is a big school with a big
heart and as one of us, we appreciate your kindness and pray that the Almighty
Allah bless you and your team and provide for you even more so that you will
always remember us.”

Jingling expressed her deepest appreciation to be part of Ahmadiyya
history. She promised Global
Group of Companies support to the school. She said education the key to life
which every pupil should value.
Ophelia M. Morrison SSS Principal Annie
Walsh Memorial School was who is the Chairman, Conference of Principals, thanked
Marie and her team for such a gesture.
She said what they have witnessed was
only from a person with a big heart.
“She might have sold everything and use
the money for her own personal use but she thought that her school needed it
more than she did.”
She went on to say Mariatu has shown to them
that she values education, students and the teachers of the various schools.
“She has come back to her school in her
little way to donate something not only for her school but other schools.”
Madam Ophelia M. Morrison described
Mariatu and her partners as philanthropists with a very big heart. “The only thing that will please her back is
seeing students doing well, taking their studies seriously, also to see
teachers render good services and making the name of the school fly higher than
it is,”Madam Ophelia M. Morrison said.
This is not the first
time MariatuKargbo Foundation is making such donation. Teachers as well as
pupils of Maria Primary School, Polio Community (MPSPC) Grafton always give
thanks to Maria for what she is doing for them.
MariatuKargbo
who is one of Sierra Leone’s finest performing Artist, Entertainer, Musician
and Model is based in China. Through her performance over the years, Maria
has been engaging in fund raising events in China to raise money in helping
under privileged kids in China and Sierra Leone. Few months ago Maria
donated learning materials to school kids and has been involved in supporting
children, women and girls in various sectors of the country. Some of the
items donated are rolls of uniform, cartons of books, pencils, slippers among
others.

B.C. Webber St. Helena Secondary JSS, Alberta J.N. Demby St. Joseph’s Secondary
School, Samuel M. Sawyerr Government Municipal Secondary School and Alimatu Massaquoi
St. Edwards Secondary Senior School. The donations were handed over to the
principal of Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School, Alhaji Karima who in turn
presented them to other Principals and teachers.
