Background: One Family people (OFP) is a local human right organization striving for a transformed continent where people with disability – from children to adult, men and women – participate equally in everyday life. Since its inception in 2008 in Sierra Leone, we focused our work on breaking barriers and changing mindset to ensure equal access to services for persons with disabilities such as protection, livelihood, employment, education, health care and counselling. The management of One Family People now invites applications from suitable qualified Sierra Leoneans for consideration to the following post: Post: Programme Manager Report to: Senior Programme Manager Manages: Not applicable Duty Station: Freetown Date Required: Immediately Duration: 1 Year + Job Summary: The Programme Manager is responsible for day to day management of One Family People activities. This role requires frequent travel around the country including remote areas. Key responsibilities • Design, draft and develop new project proposals and programmes • Monitor and evaluate programmes • Draft reports and timely disseminate such reports to relevant stakeholders • Provide technical assistance and training during project implementation • Contribute to organizational strategic development and planning • Identify and pursue funding opportunities • Contribute to action research • Representation and networking Qualification and Experience: • Has a higher professional working and thinking level • Has demonstrable experience with programmatic work and good knowledge in project cycle management • Has experience and specific knowledge of the rehabilitation sector and/or (Para)medical and/or social projects • Has Master’s degree in Social science or experience in community development studies and • Has experience in planning, monitoring, analysis and result-oriented methods of working • Has good knowledge in networking and experience in working with people in rural communities • Has experience with budget responsibility • Three years of progressively responsible professional work experience preferably with regards to child protection, with an emphasis on disability issues • Advance knowledge in working with partner organizations providing support for children and youngsters with disabilities Other competencies & Skills • Leadership and teamwork abilities • Has excellent social skills and good knowledge of the socio-cultural context of the country • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organization • Analytical, negotiating, communication, advocacy and lobbying skills • Computer skills, including internet navigation and various office applications • Is fluent in English, both speaking and writing Applications should be forwarded under confidential cover marked ‘’Application OFP/0014 Programme Manager with up-to-date CV, names and email addresses of two referees (non-relatives) to reach the Senior Programme Manager, One Family People, 104 Campbell Street Freetown on or before Friday 25th July, 2014.
