DAY OF THE AFRICAN CHILD...Mr. One Gives Learning Materials And Swing Wilberforce Children

In his one in a million entertainments, one of Sierra Leone’s finest musician Jerome Michael Corshu also knows as Mr. One has donated school materials to pupils of the Wilberforce community.

After donating the materials to the pupils, Mr. One put on his best performance and thrilled the kids of that community for them to feel belonged and happy because it was a very special and remarkable day.
He said later he will entertain the kids and make them  feel belonged and happy cause it’s a very special and remarkable day all over the world, also thanked the nations telecommunication for their support.

The Mr. One donation came with the support from africell. The Theme of the day was “Fight For Education”
Mr. One was born in the Wilberforce Community and he is still residing in that part of the country.
He told SALONE TIMES that he attended the Wilberforce Village Primary School and he thought it wise to spend the day of the African child with the present pupils of the school.
“We decided to meet with these kids and to explain to them about the past history of the day and the important of its to our lives, the value of education, and later present them with school materials that will be a beneficial to them,” he said.
Mr. One went on to say that the day is very important because if you watch the history of how children in South Africa fought for their freedom “and that’s the freedom we young Africans are enjoying today and that particular day was a remarkable and united day.”
He said thou people misinterpret the rightful meaning of that day as a joyful day but it’s not a day to be merry about, it’s was a day young people lost their lives in the battle for their freedom and not a day they should party about.

He therefore, thought that he should meet with these children to educate them about the day.
“It’s very important in the lives of every African child.”
Mr. One said this is his first time to come up with such motive and put his own resources and also with the help of the nation’s fastest and number one Mobile Company in Sierra Leone africell.
He further stated that africell saw his idea as a good motive and came on board and rendered their support. He thanked africell for their support towards him and the children.
Mr. One only prayer and hope now is for him to continue with such motive every year.
Mr. One said he actually targeted two thousand kids from different schools within the Wilberforce community, but because of the limited resources, he got half of that figure.
He advised the kids not only in Wilberforce but the nation at large to concentrate on their academics, as he believes that education is the key to success, even as an artist of the republic and also warned them to stay out of violence.
He made list of all the items he presented at the school. He’s also thinking about setting up a foundation for children as he is so passionate about children and has work with them, so  he thought it will be wise for him to set up a foundation but he is not certain when work will begin but that’s his dream.

Mr. One has also partner with other Organizations, NGOs concern with children’s welfare and serve as goodwill Ambassadors.
