That State House Back Yard Project

Hmmmm! Indeed this is Sierra Leone, the land that we love. Hi guys, how are you doing? TRACE was looking at how the Sierra Leone people's Party (SLPP) turned from a party of happiness to a party of Paopa.
It was on Saturday last week when TRACE was walking around the Victoria Park by Rokel Street to see what was going on in that park. TRACE took a taxi from St. John in the west of Freetown to Regent Road in central Freetown.
TRACE was enjoying the view around Rokel Street looking at the SIERRATEL office, Sierra Leone Library Board and Victoria Park. As TRACE was walking slowly, TRACE was also listening to some cool Music. As soon as TRACE approached the Sierra Leone Library, TRACE raised his head. TRACE's eyes were quick to see State House backyard. To TRACE's surprise when TRACE looked at the backyard of State House, TRACE noticed that some kind of extension work was going on.
Some time ago TRACE called on State House to check their backyard in one of TRACE's edition. TRACE called was not for the authority to do an extension of the building but for them to take care of the compound for it to look like the first gentleman's office as in the case of other countries.
The compound was in a state of disrepair, when one looks at the fence and taxis among other ugly things that were in that compound.

TRACE was pleased to see the construction of new fence; it was a step in the right direction because such compound should be protected at all time. It is the house of the number one gentle man of the state. TRACE also pointed out that not only the compound that should look good but the surrounding as well.
For the benefit of some readers, State House is located at the central part of Freetown, State Avenue, Tower Hill in Freetown. State House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of Sierra Leone. State House is also a place where the President is cabinet meeting, meetings with visiting foreign heads of state and international delegations.
State House it is a short distance from the Sierra Leone House of Parliament, just a few blocks from the Ministry of Defence, the National Electoral Commission build and the office of the Vice President.
With such information you now know how important such place is for the country.
TRACE was baffled to notice that the extension work of in that compound has stopped abruptly.
How can a building like that that is hosting the first gentle man in the country project just stop abruptly? And still the gentle man is still working under a building that is still under construction.
TRACE saw how the President of Liberia left her office when it was under reconstruction as a way of protecting those that are working and visiting the Executive Mansion.
In fact State House building is a building of tourist potential and it is part of the heritage of this country changing it depicts the traditional purpose of the building and it historic looks.
Now the project has stopped due to economic or financial crisis.
The rooms they are creating are mostly duplication of the current positions which TRACE believed is a waste of State resources.
People are languishing in poverty and the authorities are trying to add more space for them to eat.
Watch out for more of the on completed project under this government...
