For Practicing Lesbianism… Asiatu Sankoh On The Run

Following our fist publication about the lesbian nature of Asiatu Sankoh, formerly of 3 Patton Street off Kissy Road in the east end of Freetown who is reported to be on the run for involving in an act of lesbianism, which is against the laws of Sierra Leone, this Press has gathered that her family members, community people and even the country’s lawmakers are looking for her for engaging in such diabolic, disgraceful and shameful act which was least expected of her.
According to one of Asiatu’s close friend, who begged for anonymity, she said the reason that got Asiatu into lesbianism was when she started working for one of government parastatals, where she met one Abdul Razak Koroma with whom she fell in love and had a son called Imran Koroma.
She revealed that they got married but that when Asiatu was later transferred to one of the office branch in town, her husband Razak dated one of her friend in the same office. She continued that Asiatu was never expecting her husband and friend to be in love.
“When she asked her husband the reason for doing such, he was very hostile and aggressive and that prompted Asiatu to return to her parent home in order to cool off,” she explained adding that it was during her stay with her parents that her husband got married to her friend.
Asiatu, she said became frustrated and almost drank poison but that with the help of some friends, they succeeded in consoling her to forget and move on.
As if that was not enough, she went on, Mr. Razak Koroma then filed for divorce to which Asiatu has no option but to succumb and that after the divorce, she said, Asiatu promised never to have anything to do with any man.

“She hates men as much as she hates Satan just because of what Razak Koroma did to her. This situation led her to go into Lesbianism,” she said.
When asked about Asiatu’s whereabouts, she said she only know that she is in Sierra Leone but don’t know her right location.
In an interview with Asiatu’s Father Pa. Alusine Sankoh, he said Asiatu has dragged their family name into the mud for which she has been disowned. He said when she returned from her travel, he would definitely kill her and beg God for forgiveness.
“Asiatu came from a noble and respected family and for whatever reason she got involve an such a practice she is not fit to live" he stated, noting that Asiatu before her traveling was peacefully living with them without any suspicion of her engagement in such a barbaric and disgraceful act.
According to one Joseph Bangura, who identify himself as the Area Youth Chairman, the community was oppose lesbianism and that Asiatu should never return to their community as they would thoroughly manhandle her for her action.
“Lesbianism is against the laws of the land and we as youth in the community will not encourage it from anyone. We have instituted an house to house search to get Asiatu and her husband, who were both on the run,” he vowed.

As we go to press, Asiatu’s parents and community youths are still searching for her. All efforts have been made to reach Asiatu Sankoh’s for her comment but all prove futile. But the question now many are asking as to do with the government effort to protect the human rights of people whether they are lesbianism and homo sexual.
