“KAMARAINBA IS THE AUDACITY OF HOPE” …Says Kandeh Yumkellah

Barrack Obama, former United State President in his ‘Audacity of Hope Book’ described politics as a tradition based on the simple idea that we have a stake in one another, and that what binds a nation together is greater than what drives that nation apart.
He furthered that if people believe in the truth of that proposition and act on it, then “we might not solve every problem, but we can get something meaningful done.”
After having lunch together at  Crown Bakery in Freetown on 6th  February 2017, the former UNIDO boss and Intending Flag Bearer Aspirant of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella (KKY), referencing Obama’s book referred to the Leader of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray as the ‘Audacity of Hope’ of Sierra Leone.
The former UNIDO Boss further stated that it is very important to change the narrative of politics in the country to protect the next generation and that Kamarainba as a young political party leader sets the platform of hope for young people in the country.
He said they as elders should demonstrate that politics is about ideas and not the other way round and that political leaders should not look at themselves as enemies but brothers in the same struggle.
While asked if his association with the ADP leader is a way of forming a coalition with the ADP, Kandeh replied that there has been a new phenomenon in Africa where the power of incumbency has given the cause to other political parties to form coalition in a bid of removing a sitting government from power.

He said the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) should be ready for such coalition because it has been working in other places like Gambia, Nigeria and other countries in Africa.
He stated that he will not be surprised to see various political parties in the country apply the same configuration in the 2018 general election in Sierra Leone.
In his statement, the ADP Leader, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray stated that the country lacked the concept of sharing as one family and they as political leaders should restore the attribute of unity among the people in moving the country forward.
Kamarainba stated that he will be meeting with other leaders from other political parties (of which Madda Bio is no exception) to extend the similar moment with them in a public place.
He said that he will grant KKY and Madda Bio a red carpet welcome to run as running mate in his party if anyone of them fails to clinch the flag bearer position in SLPP, adding that their ideas are highly needed in redeeming the country from its current status.
