Day Of The African Child… Mama T. Trust Feeds 4 Thousand Children
Children across Africa always look forward to
mark the day of the African child which always takes place on the 16 of June.
As part of their contribution to the nation; children and other family members
of Adjie Harriette Thomas for the second time in a year feeds 40 thousand
school children in Freetown through the Mama T. Trust Foundation.

Trust (also known as Mama T Trust) is a Trust Foundation that caters not only
for the welfare of school going children, but has also come to the realization
that contributing to their upbringing paves the way for a better tomorrow.
The schools that benefited from the gestures
are: Milton Margai School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, School for the
Deaf, Aberdeen Municipal School, Wilberforce Junior Secondary School, Prince of
Wales Secondary School, Saint Thomas Primary School,
and Fawa Primary School among others.

The Head of the Foundation, Madam Nora Onike
Thomas decided to follow the footsteps of her mother together with other
members of the family like Mr. Eddie Thomas, who is currently serving as the
Public Relations Officer.
She said the Foundation was named after the
late Madam Adjie Harriette Thomas who used to feed Pupils of the Prince of
Wales with support from USAID under the
reign of President Kennedy in the United States of America.

Onike Thomas said they were doing their individual contributions within the
family.
"We hope to continue with this gesture if we have the required support," she said.
She added that if children are not given food to eat they won't learn and grow well.
"We want to leave a legacy for the current younger generation to emulate in the near future," Madam Thomas said.

The Foundation's Public Relations Officer,
Mr. Eddie Thomas called on the government, companies, business entities and
individuals to support the Mama T. Trust Foundation to continue with the good
works.
"We must take good care of our future leaders so that they grow well to take up leadership," he said.
School authorities expressed nice sentiments about the Mama T. Foundation and requested that support be extended to other areas like school and learning materials.

The children were pleased with the items as
they were watching the South African Movie and eating at the same time.
