Day Of The African Child… Mama T. Trust Feeds 4 Thousand Children

Children across Africa always look forward to mark the day of the African child which always takes place on the 16 of June.
As part of their contribution to the nation; children and other family members of Adjie Harriette Thomas for the second time in a year feeds 40 thousand school children in Freetown through the Mama T. Trust Foundation.

The Adjie Harriette Thomas Joque Memorial Trust (also known as Mama T Trust) is a Trust Foundation that caters not only for the welfare of school going children, but has also come to the realization that contributing to their upbringing paves the way for a better tomorrow.
The schools that benefited from the gestures are: Milton Margai School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, School for the Deaf, Aberdeen Municipal School, Wilberforce Junior Secondary School, Prince of Wales Secondary School, Saint Thomas Primary School,
and Fawa Primary School among others.
The Head of the Foundation, Madam Nora Onike Thomas decided to follow the footsteps of her mother together with other members of the family like Mr. Eddie Thomas, who is currently serving as the Public Relations Officer.
She said the Foundation was named after the late Madam Adjie Harriette Thomas who used to feed Pupils of the Prince of Wales with support from USAID under the
reign of President Kennedy in the United States of America.
The Head of the Trust Foundation, Madam Nora Onike Thomas said they were doing their individual contributions within the family.
"We hope to continue with this gesture if we have the required support," she said.

She added that if children are not given food to eat they won't learn and grow well.

"We want to leave a legacy for the current younger generation to emulate in the near future," Madam Thomas said.
The Foundation's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Eddie Thomas called on the government, companies, business entities and individuals to support the Mama T. Trust Foundation to continue with the good works.

"We must take good care of our future leaders so that they grow well to take up leadership," he said.

School authorities expressed nice sentiments about the Mama T. Foundation and requested that support be extended to other areas like school and learning materials.

The children were pleased with the items as they were watching the South African Movie and eating at the same time.
