Adonis Abboud Shocked Over State Of Kissy Mental Home

In his Keynote Speech marking World Mental Health Day ceremony which was organised by Advocacy for Mental Health and Human Rights Sierra Leone on Monday 10th October 2016, Dr. Adonis Abboud expressed shocked over   Kissy Mess Mess Mental Hospital.  “It is in a real Mess,” he stressed. The day which was commemorated all over the world has it theme: ‘Psychiatric First Aid’ “Having seen the documentary about the inmates in that hospital, it was clear that several of them merely needed proper counseling. Instead, what you see is that the inmates are injected periodically with some kind of heavy tranquilizers,” he said. He went on to say that most traumatic events are experiences that created stressful responses and intense emotional behaviour. Hello folks, it is with deep mixed feelings that TRACE is writing this piece considering the level of information TRACE gave to the Freetown City Council about the massive encroachment that is going on in the cemeteries especially the Circular Road cemetery.   TRACE was shocked when the news break about the 72 graves that were opened. This is what TRACE saw years ago. That is why TRACE was calling on the attention of the authorities to act but it turned out to be the mastermind of the crimes because they allowed people to construct dwelling houses and use the cemeteries for all sorts of things. The cemeteries in Freetown now have radio stations, garages and also dwelling houses among others. The authority just sit and watch without taking any action. Rev. Arnold Paker Releases Book Titled “What Must We Do?”

Paker of Greater Heights Global Mission which is situated at 45 King Harman Road Brookfields Freetown has published a must read book titled,   “What Must We Do?” The book which was launched by Lady Commissioner OlayinkaLaggah of the Bethel World Outrich Ministries took place at the church premises on Saturday 15th October 2016 at King Harman Road in Freetown. Bah In their joint effort to help children affected of ebola, Soroptimist International paid a courtesy called on the Foundation for Children of Ebola Affected Medical Workers (FOCEM) beneficiaries in Bo.The visit took place on the 24 th September 2016 at Wan Word link in Bo Town. Madam Cole, Mrs Emsley and team Admin Officer of FOCEM, Andrew S. Coomber said the purpose of the visit was for FOCEM and Soroptimist International to map out ways they can collaborate and sponsor the beneficiaries by providing them with educational assistance. TRACE along with other Freetonians woke up on Monday morning 22nd August this year with the hope that our garbage would have been cleared by no less a company but MASADA Waste Management Company. To our dismay, it was not so as the company staff has laid down their tools for what they described as two months salaries backlog. Admin Director of MASADA Sahr Karku confirmed the strike action to TRACE. According to him there are workers who usually work at night but due to their financially constrain, they failed to show up for duty. He said they have being working for eight months now but they have not been receiving payment for the work they have done from the government. “The workers went out of patience. Despite searching for him and reporting his disappearance to the police, he is yet to be seen. Freetonians woke up on Monday morning with the hope that their garbage would have been cleared by MASADA Waste Management Company but to their dismay, it was not so as the company staff has laid down their tools for what they described as salary arrears. According to the staff, the company owed them two months salaries which they said has caused embarrassment for them as they have to take care of their families. MASADA Admin Operator Sheku Jalloh said the workers started the seat down strike on Sunday night when the night shift workers failed to show up for their duty. CHILDREN OF DECEASED EBOLA MEDICAL WORKERS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE

As their contribution to ease the stress on some guardians that are taking care of children whose parents died during the Ebola episode in Sierra Leone, the Foundation for Children of Ebola Affected Medical Workers (FOCEM) has distributed Scholarship Packages to some of the affected children. The Bo district Scholarship Award Ceremony which took place in Bo City last week Thursday is one of the series of ceremony that will be held in other districts and cities in the country. Sierra Leone was severely afflicted by the epidemic of Ebola virus disease, along with the neighboring countries of Guinea and Liberia. World Health Organisation (WHO) reported a total number of cases are about 28,637 across six countries.
